Atlanta, USA - March 21, 2020: Passengers at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport walk inside a terminal. On account of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, many passengers wear a respirator mask for protection.

The US and the nations of France and Germany have forged a new agreement that will allow their citizens to enter the United States visa-free. The new agreement is a result of a September visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to President Donald Trump, in which he discussed a possible “new bilateral agreement.”

How Does the US VISA Program Work?

The US VISA FOR FRENCH CITIZENS Waiver Program allows travelers from France and Germany to enter the United States visa-free for 90 days. The program is administered by the US Department of State through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) website. Citizens of these countries must have a valid passport and an ESTA application form completed and submitted to the DHS before traveling to the US.

Citizens of France and Germany are required to present a valid passport, a valid visa if required by their country of residence, and a valid ESTA application form when traveling to the United States. If you are approved for the Visa Waiver Program, you will be able to travel to the United States without having a visa.

Please note that citizens of France and Germany must meet all other requirements for entry into the United States, including being in possession of a valid passport, visa, and ESTA application form. Additionally, these citizens are not exempt from immigration inspection when entering the United States.
