What is a Canadian Visa?
If you are a citizen of Cyprus or Estonia, and you would like to visit Canada, you will need a Canadian visa. Citizens of both countries can apply for a temporary resident visa if they plan to stay in Canada for no more than six months. If you are planning to stay in Canada for a longer period of time, you will need to apply for a Canadian permanent residency visa.
The application process for a Canadian visa is relatively simple. You will need to fill out an application form and submit it along with required documents to the nearest Canadian embassy or consulate. You may also be required to take an online assessment test. Once your application is approved, you will be issued a temporary resident visa which will allow you to enter Canada.
Once you have arrived in Canada, your temporary resident visa will automatically expire and you will be required to leave the country within 30 days unless you have applied for and been granted permission to remain in Canada pursuant to section 8 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA). If you have not yet been granted permission pursuant to section 8 of IRPA, but meet all other requirements set out by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), then your temporary resident visa may be extended up to 12 months while your application is being processed. Visa applicants are also required to provide proof of financial support in the form of either an international bank statement or confirmed letter from a responsible person in their home country stating that they will be able to cover their expenses while in Estonia. Finally, all visitors are required to undergo a medical examination prior to boarding any flight to Estonia.
