First and foremost, you will need to gather all of the necessary documents. These include your passport, a passport-sized photograph, photocopies of all your identification cards (such as your driver’s license), and proof of your financial stability (such as an upto date bank statement or letter from an employer).
Once you have gathered all of these documents, you will need to apply for a Turkish visa at the nearest Turkish embassy or consulate. This process can take some time, so be prepared to wait a few weeks for approval. Once your application has been approved, you will need to visit the Turkish immigration office in order to pick up your visa. Be sure to bring everything that you submitted with your application – including copies of all of your documentation – in order to avoid any delays on the day of your appointment.
Once you have received your Turkish visa, make sure that you know the exact address where you should report to upon arrival in Turkey. This address will be printed on the back side of your visa sticker. Once there, simply show the immigration officer your visa sticker and pass through customs without having to worry about any additional paperwork or formalities.
The Name and Date of Birth
The Turkish government has updated its visa application requirements for Chinese citizens. In order to get a tourist visa, applicants must present their passport, a valid passport-sized photograph, and a hotel reservation or airline ticket confirmation dated within six months of the intended stay in Turkey. For business visitors, they must present an invitation letter from a Turkish company and proof of financial stability. The new requirements went into effect on January 1st, 2019. Turkey Visa for Chinese Citizens
China is the top source country for tourists visiting Turkey. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUI),288,000 Chinese tourists visited Turkey in 2018, accounting for 24% of all foreign tourists visiting the country that year. This number is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years as China continues to invest heavily in tourism infrastructure in Turkey.
Turkish citizens are also among the most frequent visitors to China. According to information provided by the Chinese embassy in Ankara, there were more than 2 million Turkish citizens living abroad as of 2016. This makes them one of China’s largest diaspora communities.
Given these high levels of bilateral tourism between both countries, it is no surprise that visa requirements have recently become stricter for both Chinese and Turkish nationals wishing to travel to each other’s countries.
